Sustainability Manager
Description
On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Sustainability Manager for a long-term mission in Namibia.
As part of this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and leading the company's sustainability strategy, ensuring its operational implementation and monitoring.
- Integrating sustainability issues into all project phases: from planning and design to construction, operation, and decommissioning.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and the requirements related to permits and authorizations.
- Identifying and assessing ESG (environmental, social, and governance) risks and implementing appropriate mitigation plans.
- Organizing the collection of ESG data and ensuring the regular production of sustainability reports.
- Leading initiatives related to local content and socio-economic development.
- Overseeing corporate social investment (CSI) activities and managing dedicated teams.
- Maintaining constructive dialogue with external stakeholders, particularly local communities.
- Supporting key suppliers to ensure their compliance with responsible mining practices standards.
Compétences
- Holder of a Bac+3 level degree.
- Significant experience, at least 10 years in a similar role.
- Experience in the mining sector would be an asset.
- Knowledge of applicable Namibian regulations as well as international standards and best practices.
- Strong experience in risk management and stakeholder relations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license, with availability for regular travel.
